Connect Claude or ChatGPT (MCP)
Manage your agents in plain English from the AI assistant you already use.
What it does
Zetra has a connector built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Once connected, you can ask Claude or ChatGPT things like:
- Analyze conversations — "What did customers ask about most this week?"
- Update an agent — "Add our new refund policy to the support agent."
- Check tickets — "Show me every ticket still waiting on a reply."
- Create agents — "Spin up an agent trained on our help center."
No API key to copy and no engineering work: you sign in with your normal Zetra login.
How to connect
- In Claude or ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors, add a custom connector and enter
https://zetra.chat/api/mcp. You can copy this address from Workspace settings → API keys → Connected apps. - Sign in with your Zetra login when the app sends you to Zetra.
- Choose what the connection may do, then click Allow access.
The connection reaches the workspace you are signed in to at that moment. To connect another workspace, switch to it first and connect again.
Permissions
| Permission | Lets the app | Default |
|---|---|---|
| View | See agents, sources, conversations, unanswered questions, tickets and analytics | Always on |
| Manage agents | Create and clone agents, change instructions and settings, add sources, retrain | On |
| Work tickets | Change a ticket's status and add internal notes | On |
| Delete | Delete agents and sources | Off |
| Export | Export full conversation transcripts | Off |
A connection can never do more than your own role: a Viewer can only grant View, a Support Associate can grant View and Work tickets, and members limited to specific agents only reach those agents. If your role changes, the connection changes with it straight away.
Staying in control
- Access expires after 90 days; connect again to renew it.
- Disconnect an app at any time under Workspace settings → API keys → Connected apps. Its access stops immediately.
- Connecting and disconnecting are recorded in the workspace activity log.
- Deleting an agent through the connector needs the agent's exact name as confirmation.
For developers
The server speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP at /api/mcp and signs clients in with OAuth 2.1 (authorization code with PKCE, dynamic client registration). Discovery documents are at /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource and /.well-known/oauth-authorization-server. For scripts and servers, the REST API with an API key is usually simpler.
