viaSocket
Automate tasks across your apps with viaSocket, triggered by Zetra webhooks.
Overview
viaSocket is a no-code automation tool that connects your apps with drag-and-drop flows. Connect it to Zetra with a webhook and every lead or ticket your agent creates can start a flow. This guide walks through one example: adding new leads to a Google Doc.
What you can do
Send what your agent captures into any app viaSocket supports, the moment it happens.
Before you start
- A Zetra account with an agent. If you haven't built one yet, create a free account and follow the Quick start.
- A viaSocket account.
What you can automate
| Automation | How it works |
|---|---|
| Lead generation | New leads go to your CRM, such as HubSpot or Salesforce, for follow-up. |
| Customer support | Escalations create tasks or alerts in your project and chat tools. |
| Email campaigns | New leads are added to Mailchimp or ActiveCampaign for a welcome sequence. |
| E-commerce follow-ups | Leads from your store's chat get a discount code or a follow-up message. |
How to connect viaSocket
Create a flow with a webhook trigger
- Sign in to viaSocket and click Create New Flow.
- Click Select Trigger and choose Webhook.
- Copy the webhook URL viaSocket generates.
Add the webhook in Zetra
Open your agent, go to Settings → Webhooks, paste the URL into Endpoint URL, choose the events (for example
lead.created) and click Add webhook. Click Send test so viaSocket receives an example.Add an action
In the viaSocket flow, click Select Action, choose Google Docs → Append Text to Document, connect your Google account and map the text to the lead's
data.nameanddata.email.Test and publish
Run a test in viaSocket with the example event, then publish the flow.
Check it works
Leave your details in the chat on your site. The lead is added to your Google Doc within a few seconds.
Events you can use
| Event | Sent when |
|---|---|
| lead.created | A visitor leaves their details through the lead form or the Collect leads action. |
| ticket.created | A Helpdesk ticket is created, from email or when the agent escalates. |
| ticket.escalated | The agent escalated a chat; includes where it was sent (Zendesk, HubSpot and so on). |
| conversation.handed_off | A chat was handed to a live person (for example through Sunshine). |
| conversation.rate_limited | A visitor hit your rate limit (Settings → Security). |
Each event is sent as JSON like this:
{
"event": "lead.created",
"createdAt": "2026-09-27T10:15:00.000Z",
"data": {
"leadId": "cm1a2b3c4d5e6f",
"name": "Jane Wanjiku",
"email": "[email protected]"
}
}
